Unpeated | 46% ABV | Limited Edition | 2018

On Friday the 9th of March 2018 we launched our inaugural whisky release, Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Release No.1

The launch was conducted via an online ballot and, with only 5000 bottles available, was quickly over-subscribed with the releases selling out in 24 hours. This bottling was presented in a luxury open-windowed presentation box.   

Matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks, and finished for a short period in virgin oak, Glasgow 1770 Release No.1 laid the foundations for our unpeated double distilled whisky, which would become known as ‘The Original’, and proudly brought our first Glasgow Distillery single malt into the world.

Unpeated | 46% ABV | Core Range | 2019

The second release within our unpeated double distilled style, Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2019 Release continued our whisky story after the success of Release No.1. Continuing from its predecessor, the 2019 Release was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks before finishing in virgin oak and was bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or colouring. This expression was superseded by 'The Original' in 2020.

Peated | 46% ABV | Limited Edition | 2019

In 2019 we introduced Glasgow 1770 Single Mat Scotch Whisky - Peated Release No.1.

Our first peated release utilised Scottish concerto barley that has been smoked to 50pm using aromatic heather-rich peat sourced from Aberdeenshire on Scotland’s west coast. Distilled slowly in our traditional copper pot stills using the incredibly pure water of Loch Katrine, Glasgow 1770 Peated Release No.1 was matured in Oloroso sherry butts before a finishing period in virgin oak. This release was presented in a luxury open-windowed presentation box. 

Profile: Soft smoke, aromatic spice, rich raisin, black pepper.

Triple Distilled (Unpeated) | 46% ABV | Limited Edition | 2020

In 2020 we released Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Triple Distilled Release No.1. This release was presented in a luxury open-windowed presentation box. 

Utilising soft Scottish water from Loch Katrine, fermented for over 72 hours, distilled slowly in our traditional copper pot stills, not twice as is conventional in Scotch whisky but three times, this release was matured exclusively in fresh American white oak casks. 

Profile: Dark chocolate, orange, spice and liquorice.

Unpeated | 46% ABV | Signature Range | 2020 - Present

The Original was launched to carry on our flagship unpeated double distilled core range style that 'Release No.1' and '2019 Release' had established. Released in 2020 in 50cl bottles before moving into 70cl versions in early 2022, The Original is what we call our 'fresh and fruity' single malt - showcasing the wonderfully rich dark fruits and tropical influences gained from long fermentations, small stills and long, slow distillation. The Original, like 'Release No.1' and '2019 Release' was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin American white oak.  

Produced in small batches each year, The Original forms one-third of our core 'Signature Range', alongside Triple Distilled and Peated; the three expressions come together to showcase the three styles of spirit we make each year. This is an ongoing expression that is enjoyed globally and can be purchased online here.

Peated | 46% ABV | Signature Range | 2020 - Present

Our Signature Range Peated expression was launched in 2020 after the success of Peated Release No.1. The maturation style was changed slightly from the first  release; Peated is matured initially in virgin American white oak and is finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry hogsheads for 6 - 8 months.

Initially released in 50cl bottles, this expression is now available in 70cl bottles when the distillery increased the bottle size in early 2022. Peated forms one-third of our Signature Range alongside The Original and Triple Distilled. Together they showcase the three styles of whisky production we make each year. Peated is an ongoing release that is enjoyed globally and can be purchased online here. 

Profile: BBQ sauce, rich campfire smoke, orange zest, grilled meats, vanilla, raisin, pepper spice.

Triple Distilled (Unpeated) | 46% ABV | Signature Range | 2021 - Present

Our Signature Range Triple Distilled expression was launched in 2021 after the success of Triple Distilled Release No.1. The maturation style was changed slightly from the first release; Triple Distilled is a marriage of both ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak casks, that are combined together before bottling. The move into a mix of bourbon as well as virgin oak (as opposed to full virgin oak maturation) allows the smooth and light triple distilled spirit to shine through. 

Initially released in 50cl bottles, this expression is now available in 70cl bottles when the distillery increased the bottle size in early 2022. Triple Distilled forms one-third of our Signature Range alongside The Original and Peated. Together they showcase the three styles of whisky production we make each year. Triple Distilled is an ongoing release that is enjoyed globally and can be purchased here.

Unpeated | 53.3% ABV | Limited Edition | 2021

Our first limited edition bottling, The Coopers’ Cask Release was the result of a collaboration between ourselves at The Glasgow Distillery and US-based Kelvin Cooperage, launched in celebration of the ancient skill of coopering; the art of creating casks made from wooden staves bound by metal hoops.

The brainchild of two highly skilled coopers, Hugh McMurray from The Glasgow Distillery and Kevin McLaughlin from Kelvin Cooperage, The Coopers’ Cask Release takes the unpeated spirit from an exceptional ex-port cask filled by ourselves in 2015 and lays it to rest in a unique hand-built cask which consists of half heavily charred virgin oak staves from Kelvin Cooperage and half ex-Glasgow 1770 Single Malt cask staves.

Profile: Summer orchard fruits, rich honey, pineapple, toffee apple, floral, warm spice.

Unpeated | 56.2% ABV | Limited Edition | 2021

One-third of a set of wine cask finishes across our three spirit styles, Ruby Port Cask Finish was a distillery exclusive, utilising our double distilled unpeated spirit. Cask No 17/808 was distilled and filled in July 2017 into a first fill ex-bourbon cask, before moving into a ruby port barrique in November 2020. Bottled in October 2021, this release was limited to 467 individually numbered bottles at 56.2% ABV.

Profile: Dark summer berries, fresh cream, pink peppercorn spice.

Triple Distilled (Unpeated) | 53% ABV | Limited Edition | 2021

Cask No. 18/969 was an ex-bourbon cask, filled with our triple distilled unpeated spirit in February 2018, before moving into a Hungarian tokaji wine cask in December 2020. Bottled in October 2021, this release was limited to 380 individually numbered bottles at 53% ABV.

Profile: Sweet honey, toffee apples, poached pears, apricot preserve.

Peated | 53.7% ABV | Limited Edition | 2021

Cask No. 18/994 was filled with our peated smoky spirit in May 2018, directly into a virgin American white oak barrel before moving into a French sauternes barrique in January 2021. Bottled in November 2021, only 486 individually numbered bottles were produced at 53.7% ABV.

Profile: Sweet and smoky BBQ sauce, toffee, salted caramel, earthy spice.

Unpeated | 55% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2022

Filled on the 17th of October 2018 with unpeated double distilled spirit into a first fill ex-bourbon cask before moving in January 2021 into an American oak barrel that previously held tequila, this was the first bottle released in our new 70cl ‘Small Batch Series’. A series that was to demonstrate the experimentation in cask styles across our three spirit styles.

Bottled on the 17th of June 2022, limited to 295 bottles, this is a true representation of our unmasked sweet and fruity unpeated spirit that is gently accompanied by the rich honey and tropical notes gained from the tequila cask.

Profile: Rich honey, fresh apples, pears, tropical fruits.

Peated | 56% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2022

A marriage of two casks, 18/963 and 18/964, virgin American white oak barrels that were initially filled on the 14th of March 2018 with our peated spirit, before being moved into ex-cognac brandy barrique casks in November 2020.

Married together and bottled on the 16th of June 2022 without chill filtration and at natural colour, Cognac Cask Finish has released at 56% ABV and only 882 bottles were available.

Profile: BBQ sauce, rolled tobacco, orange zest, szechuan peppercorns, crystalised ginger, earthy clove.

Unpeated | 58.5% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2022

A limited edition release of only 356 bottles at 58.5% ABV, this unique expression marked our first foray into beer finishes.

Our unpeated double distilled spirit was filled into a first fill ex-bourbon barrel on the 17th of April 2019. On the 9th of June this year, 2022, we filled this into a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead that was used to mature Innis & Gunn’s Original Beer for 3 months.

The combination of rich sherry and hops combine for a wonderful experimental experience.

Profile: Dark fruits, rich vanilla, sticky toffee, malt, hops.

Unpeated | 58.1% | The Small Batch Series | 2022

Cask no. 18/989 was filled with our unpeated double distilled spirit on the 5th of August 2018 into a first fill ex-bourbon cask before being moved into a Hungarian Tokaji sweet white wine hogshead on the 12th of January 2021.

Bottled on the 14th of October 2022, this release showcases our hands-on distillation style balanced with an interesting and rare cask influence.

Lovely rich honeycomb and shortbread notes were gained from the bourbon cask with a powerful fruity spice contributed by the Tokaji influence. Exceptional.

Profile: Honeycomb, orange zest, apricot preserve, shortbread, warming spice.

Peated & Triple Distilled (Unpeated) | 57.5% | The Small Batch Series | 2023

The first time we have combined two spirit styles with two cask finishes; our peated single malt was matured in virgin American white oak and finished in Bordeaux red wine casks, whilst our triple distilled unpeated single malt was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in Ruby Port casks.

A total of six casks (3 of each) were initially filled in early 2018 before being married together and bottled in late 2022, this release was limited to 1925 bottles at 57.5%.

Wonderful dark fruits combine with summer berries, toasted almonds and rich pepper spice.

Profile: Red berries, dark fruits, toasted almonds, tobacco leaf, pink peppercorn spice.

Triple Distilled (Unpeated) | 52% | The Small Batch Series | 2023

A marriage of three casks 18/965 - 18/967, our delicate and floral Triple Distilled spirit filled on the 3rd of February 2018 into first fill ex-bourbon casks and laid to rest for two years and ten months before moving in French Cognac puncheon casks on the 17th of December 2020 for two years and six months.

A limited edition release of 1576 bottles at 52% ABV.

Delicate and smooth single malt packed with notes of orchard fruits, rich vanilla and citrus.

Profile: Green apples, poached pear, vanilla ice cream, shortbread, bright citrus spice.

Unpeated | 58% | The Small Batch Series | 2023

The contents of a single cask, our unpeated Double Distilled spirit filled on the 17th of April 2019 into first fill ex-bourbon casks and laid to rest for three years and one month before moving for one year into a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask that previously held Innis & Gunn's Golden Beer.

A limited edition release of 340 bottles at 58% ABV and part of our Collaboration Series - this pack also contains a bottle of Innis & Gunn PX Finish Limited Edition.

A rich, fruity and hoppy single malt.

Profile: Sultana, hops, orange peel, nutmeg, cinnamon spice.

Peated | 53.4% | The Small Batch Series | 2023

A marriage of two casks 18/961 and 18/962, filled on the 14th of March 2018 into virgin American white oak for two years and eight months before being moved into Hungarian Tokaji Casks for a further two years and eight months.

A limited edition release of 615 bottles at 53.4% ABV.

Bottled on the 27th of July 2023, this is a rich, smoky and robust single malt.

Profile: Candied orange peel, sweet tropical smoke, dried apricot, cashew nut, manuka honey, dark chocolate.

Unpeated | 61.3% ABV | Cask Strength Batch 01 | 2023

The first release of our flagship The Original single malt that has been bottled at cask strength. We handpicked 3 exceptional casks (19/1375, 19/1411 & 19/1414) that perfectly demonstrate the fresh and fruity profile of our unpeated single malt. Matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks for three years and three months before an eleven month finish in heavily charred virgin American white oak. 

Bottled on the 17th of August 2023 and launched in October of that year. 

Profile: Seville orange marmalade, spiced pear, toffee apples, planed oak, malted biscuit, marzipan, anise 

Peated | 60.8% ABV | Cask Strength Batch 01 | 2023

The first release of our rich and smoky style that has been bottled at cask strength. Three hand selected casks (18/1144, 18/1170, 18/1171) matured in virgin American white oak for four years and three months and finished in first fill ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry hogsheads for eleven months.  

An outturn of 1000 bottles available in the UK and select export markets. 

Bottled on the 15th of August 2023 and launched in October of the same year. 

Profile: Smoky BBQ sauce, smoked Iberico ham, poached plum, tobacco leaf, flamed orange zest, dark chocolate, toasted oak shavings

Triple Distilled | 52% | Collaboration Series: Princes Square | 2023

A limited edition collaborative release with Princes Square shopping centre, this release comes in a gift pack with two branded glasses and is exclusively available at our 2023 pop-up shop in Princes Square.

The contents of a single cask, 18/975, filled on the 3rd of February 2018 into a first fill ex-bourbon cask for two years and eight months before moving into a Bordeaux Red Wine Cask for a further two years and seven months. 

Bottled on the 31st of July 2023 and limited to 347 bottles at 52% ABV. 

Profile: Delicate and floral, strawberry, peach, white chocolate, black cherry, rich oak spice.

Unpeated | 59% | The Small Batch Series | 2024

A single cask release, Cask No. 18/218, filled on the 12th of March 2018 into a refill Manzanilla sherry butt that previously held our peated single malt and bottled on the 25th of July 2023.

A limited release of 813 bottles at 59% ABV. 

This is a full term matured expression of our double distilled unpeated single malt. Showcasing floral, saline and honeyed notes gained from the Manzanilla with a wisp of smoke contributed from the peated single malt that was filled into this cask prior to this release. 

Profile: Saline smoke, plum, dried apricot, tropical papaya, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, espresso. 

Triple Distilled | 55.3% | The Small Batch Series | 2024

Cask No. 18/981, filled on the 3rd of February 2018 into a first fill ex-bourbon cask for two years and nine months before being moved into a Tequila cask for two years and six months. 

A limited edition release of 272 bottles at 55.3% ABV.

Bottled on the 27th of June 2023, this is a tropical and fruity release utilising our smooth and vibrant triple distilled spirit style with an exciting finishing cask that delivers notes of agave, pineapple and vanilla. 

Profile: Honey, lemon & lime citrus, honeydew melon, milk chocolate.

Unpeated | 58.7% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

Cask No. 17/815, a first fill ex-bourbon cask filled on the 23rd of May 2017 with our unpeated double distilled spirit, before being filled into a Calvados brandy cask on the 14th of January 2021 for a finishing period of two years and five months. 

Bottled on the 20th of June 2023 at 58.7% ABV with 270 bottles available. 

Profile: Fresh green apple, poached pear, baked apple pie, nutmeg spice. 

Lightly peated | 58% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

A marriage of three unpeated casks (no. 16/852, 16/853, 17/806) with two peated casks (no. 17/798, 17/799), initial maturation within first fill ex-bourbon casks for over three years before an extended secondary maturation within French Cognac casks for three years and four months. 

Married together and bottled on the 9th of April 2024 at 58% ABV with an outturn of 2250 bottles. 

Profile: Sweet smoke, rich honey, poached pear, dried apple, vanilla ice cream, oak spice.

Unpeated | 54.8% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

A marriage of four casks (16/855, 17/812, 17/813, 17/814) our double distilled unpeated spirit, initial maturation within first fill ex-bourbon casks for a minimum of three years and four months before an extended secondary maturation within Hungarian Tokaji sweet dessert wine casks for three years and six months. 

Bottled on the 3rd of June 2024 at 54.8% ABV with an outturn of 1300 bottles. 

Profile: Tropical mango, pineapple, orange, dried apricot, cashew nut, manuka honey, nutmeg spice.

Peated | 57.3% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

Cask No. 18/1114, a virgin American white oak cask from Kelvin Cooperage filled on the 1st of May 2018 with our 50ppm peated spirit, before being filled into a refill bourbon hogshead that previously held a peated single malt from the island of Islay on the 27th of April 2022 for a finishing period of two years and three months. 

Bottled on the 20th of August 2024 at 57.3% ABV with 303 bottles available. 

Profile: Sweet smoke, honey, tropical fruit, sea salt, orange peel, red apple, cinnamon. 

Peated | 58% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

Cask No. 18/1191, a virgin American white oak cask from Kelvin Cooperage filled on the 16th of March 20218 with our 50ppm peated spirit, before being filled into a Madeira wine hogshead on the 31st of August 2022 for a finishing period of one year and eleven months. 

Bottled on the 20th of August 2024 at 58% ABV with 298 bottles available. 

Profile: Apricot jam, tobacco, orange peel, dark chocolate, ground coffee, ginger cake. 

Peated | 60.2% ABV | The Small Batch Series | 2024

A marriage of three casks (17/549, 17/550, 17/563) our rich and smoky 50ppm peated spirit fully matured for over 7 years in Marsala wine barriques.

Filled in August 2017 and bottled on the 23rd of September 2024 at a natural cask strength of 60.2% ABV with an outturn of 860 bottles.   

Profile: Toffee apple, roasted peach, smoky bacon, stone fruit, salted caramel, blackberry, white pepper.

Unpeated | 59.5% ABV | Cask Strength Batch 02 | 2024

Our flagship The Original single malt presented at cask strength. A marriage of three selected barrels (20/1493, 20/1499, 20/1515) that showcase the rich fruity heart of our unpeated double distilled single malt. Matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks for three years and three months before an eleven-month finish in heavily charred virgin American white oak. 

Bottled on the 23rd of September 2024 and launched in November 2024.  

Profile: Seville orange marmalade, spiced pear, toffee apples, planed oak, malted biscuit, marzipan, anise 

Peated | 60.7% ABV | Cask Strength Batch 02 | 2024

Our rich and smoky single malt bottled at a natural cask strength. Three hand-selected casks (18/1185, 18/1187, 18/1189) matured in virgin American white oak for four years and two months and finished in ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry hogsheads for two years and one month.   

Bottled on the 23rd of September 2024 with an outturn of 1000 bottles.  

Profile: Smoky BBQ sauce, smoked Iberico ham, poached plum, tobacco leaf, flamed orange zest, dark chocolate, toasted oak shavings
