Glasgow 1770 The Original Named Lowland's Best Single Malt in 6th major award win in 2023

What a year 2023 has been so far for Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Our inaugural single malt scotch whisky release, Glasgow 1770 The Original has just received yet another Gold Medal, this time at the International Whisky Competition and was also named 'Best Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky' in the competition.

This achievement marks the fifth year in a row that a whisky from the Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky range has been named as the Lowland's Best. It began with the Glasgow 1770 '2019 Release' winning Gold in 2019, followed by three consecutive years of Glasgow 1770 Peated in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

This global win is the sixth top award in the last six months for Glasgow 1770 The Original, the whisky that started it all.

Other wins include the highest merit of 'Master' at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters; scoring 95/100 at the International Wine & Spirits Competition; gaining a Double Platinum Medal and being named Best In Class at the USA-based ASCOT Awards; and winning a Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Extending on our signature range, we've been experimenting with several cask finishes within our Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series. We're incredibly pleased to see two of these releases also pick up a medal within the award schemes we have entered this year. Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky Golden Beer Cask Finish won a Gold Medal at the IWSC and our latest edition, Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish has proved incredibly successful, winning a Gold medal at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters.
